Job Summary
The Electrical Project Engineer will support the design, coordination, and execution of electrical systems for multi-family residential new construction projects. This role involves managing all technical aspects of electrical engineering—ensuring that designs meet code requirements, budgets, schedules, and quality standards—while collaborating closely with project managers, architects, and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities Include : (But not limited to the following)
Ø Develop, review, and manage electrical system designs including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, and communication systems for multi-family projects.
Ø Prepare and review construction drawings, specifications, and documentation in compliance with NEC, local codes, and client standards.
Ø Collaborate with architects, structural, and mechanical engineers to ensure coordinated design solutions.
Ø Support project managers in budgeting, scheduling, and take-offs of electrical components and systems.
Ø Conduct site visits to monitor progress, inspect installations, and ensure adherence to design intent and code compliance.
Ø Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and energy efficiency assessments as needed.
Ø Review and approve submittals, RFIs, and change orders related to electrical work.
Ø Provide technical support during construction and assist in resolving field issues.
Ø Ensure safety standards and quality assurance practices are maintained throughout all project phases.
Ø Participate in project closeout activities including commissioning, testing, and as-built documentation.
Qualifications
Ø Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).
Ø Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
Ø 3–7 years of experience in the electrical field for multi-family or commercial new construction projects.
Ø Strong knowledge of NEC, IECC, NFPA, and local building codes.
Ø Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Excel and electrical design software (e.g., SKM, ETAP).
Ø Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
Ø Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ø Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
