position is based in our Seattle office and requires on-site presence Monday through Friday.

SET THE COURSE

Responsible for all payroll functions related to a specific business group. Ensures that all pay checks for that group accurately reflect hours worked wages and deductions. Verifies accuracy of accruals related to federal state and local taxes and fees. Ensures that changes to payroll data are entered accurately and in a timely manner.

BE THE ISLAND GUIDE

  • Trains payroll new hires on processes and systems.
  • Updates payroll processing documentation.
  • Acts as source of reference when Payroll manager is on vacation.
  • Assists with month end reporting and filing.
  • Gathers information necessary to process and transmit payroll includes : W4 and direct deposit forms garnishmentsmonthly retail commission and bonus information bi-annual restaurant bonus and annual wholesale bonus information annual clothing allowance imputed income and bi-annual uniform allowance imputed income.
  • Determines imputed income as necessary.
  • Calculates retroactive pay and adjustments as needed.
  • Manages leave of absence calculations.
  • Verifies hours worked wages and deductions are accurately reflected.
  • Transmits payroll on time.
  • Processes new hire transfers terminations and employee changes. a
  • Upon processing payroll verifies information is accurate using registers. Runs registers and sends out by location to locations.
  • Processes void and manual checks as needed. a
  • Processes severance checks as required.
  • Reconciles un-cashed checks and follows state escheat laws.
  • Processes tips to minimum to ensure tipped employees are paid minimum wage.
  • Manages ATO balances.
  • Manages employee time in Kronos and run ADP / Kronos interface daily.
  • Troubleshoots ADP and Kronos.
  • Enters cash and tax wires into reconciliation spreadsheets for GL.
  • Balances GL file each payroll to payroll reports and posts GL to Oxford.
  • Runs reports for various business groups per pay period and as needed.
  • Tracks employer and employee taxes.
  • Processes garnishments and any other legal documentation (timely and accurately).
  • Maintains knowledge of multi-state payroll tax and labor laws to ensure timeliness in termination pay and ensure labor laws are followed.
  • Communicates with business group in a timely manner and develops relationships with designated business group.
  • Ensures list of current employees is up to date and accurate.
  • Gathers information creates and distributes reports as requested.
  • Prepares Fed Ex packages.
  • Reconciles and processes relocation benefits.
  • Performs other projects as assigned

    • ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE

  • High School degree required. Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Generally 7 years of work experience in a payroll department.
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-state payroll
  • Experience using ADP Workforce and Kronos Word Outlook. Advanced Excel skills
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Able to build relationships
  • Proficient math skills

    • Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role including an individuals experience knowledge and skillset as well as work location and available budget.

    Rate Range : $23.27 to $34.90 Hourly
