Hybrid Clinical Pharmacist (Patient Counseling Focus)
Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist who is passionate about patient care and comfortable providing daily medication counseling over the phone. In this role, you will help patients understand their therapies, ensure medication safety, and support improved treatment outcomes.
Important: This role requires pharmacists who are comfortable providing patient counseling by phone for most of the workday (up to 8 hours).
Pay Rate: $60/hour
Training : Onsite | After Training: Hybrid (based on performance metrics)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST
What You'll Do
Clinical Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive pharmacotherapy reviews for patients including drug utilization, interaction screening, compliance evaluation, and side-effect management
• Provide patient counseling on new drug therapies and medication administration
• Document clinical assessments and therapy recommendations in patient records
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, caregivers, and care teams
• Support patients with treatment education and therapy adherence
• Assist with REMS programs and clinical management models
• Provide subcutaneous medication teaching and coordinate nursing support when needed
• Serve as a key clinical liaison between patients and healthcare providers
Pharmacy Operations
• Verify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance
• Ensure medications are dispensed in accordance with state, federal, and board of pharmacy laws
• Assist pharmacy technicians with claim adjudication and workflow support
• Perform quality assurance checks on final prescriptions
• Ensure proper handling of controlled substances and hazardous materials
• Oversee pharmacy technicians and support daily pharmacy operations
Professional Responsibilities
• Maintain required continuing education and licensure compliance
• Support the professional development of pharmacy staff
• Participate in clinical discussions, meetings, and training sessions
• Stay informed on clinical best practices and emerging therapies
Required Qualifications
• Active Pharmacist License in good standing in North Carolina or Texas
• PharmD or graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
• 3–5+ years of post-graduate pharmacy experience in clinical or operational settings
• Strong patient counseling and communication skills
• Comfortable providing extended phone-based clinical counseling
Preferred Qualifications
• BCOP certification or willingness to obtain when eligible
• Experience in specialty pharmacy or oncology pharmacy services
• Knowledge of sterile technique and pharmacy quality control processes
