Orientation & Mobility Specialist - Redwood City, CA

This position offers an opportunity to support K-12 students as a dedicated Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS). Working in person within a school setting, you will play a vital role in enhancing the independence and safety of students with visual impairments. The contract spans the 2025 / 2026 school year and involves committing to 20 or more hours weekly.

Responsibilities :

• Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments to help them navigate school environments safely and confidently
• Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to develop individualized strategies tailored to student needs
• Conduct assessments, develop mobility plans, and adjust techniques as students progress
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with the educational team
• Participate in team meetings and professional development as needed
