Senior Occupational Therapist

Job Description

Evaluates and treats patients with disabilities, injuries and / or disease in accordance with the written and signed prescription and / or referral of a physician or other State authorized practitioner. Provides guidance to the clinical Rehabilitation staff.

Job Responsibility

• Administers direct patient care in accordance with the written and signed prescription of the referring physician or other state authorized practitioner.
• Guides clinical rehabilitation staff.
• Orientates Therapists to designed rotation, providing instruction regarding treatment protocols and use of equipment.
• Makes periodic inspections of equipment, identifies equipment malfunctions and initiates repairs by contacting appropriate service departments.
• Submits required documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the department.
• Assists with program development and quality improvement.
• Participates in quality improvement chart reviews and activities.
• Serves as a liaison between the department and team members.
• Provides treatment to more complex assignments.
