Easterseals Joliet Region is currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) full or part-time. This individual would provide high-quality nursing oversight, health care management, and clinical support for individuals living in Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILA). The RN ensures that all medical services meet the requirements of Illinois DHS Rule 116, agency policies, and best-practice standards. This position plays a key role in promoting wellness, safety, independence, and quality of life for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Nursing Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments, including initial, annual, and as-needed evaluations in accordance with Rule 116 and agency policy.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Nursing Service Plans and Health Risk Screening tools.
- Administer medications and treatments as required; oversee medication management and storage systems per Rule 116.
- Train and delegate health-related tasks to Direct Support Personnel (DSPs) in accordance with RN Trainer requirements.
- Review physician orders, labs, referrals, and follow-up care to ensure timely implementation.
- Provide on-call consultation support for CILA staff regarding medical concerns or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in compliance with IDHS, Medicaid Waiver, and accreditation standards.
Health & Safety Oversight
Conduct regular site visits to assigned CILA homes to audit medication administration records (MARs), controlled medication counts, first aid supplies, and overall compliance.Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and assist staff in learning proper procedures.Participate in incident reviews, safety assessments, and quality improvement activities.Qualifications
Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing required.RN Trainer certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire).Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities strongly preferred.Valid driver's license and ability to travel to CILA homes.Strong organizational skills, documentation accuracy, and ability to prioritize urgent needs.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and support a person-centered care model.Why Join Us :
