About the Role Cardiac Care RNs provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from cardiovascular procedures and surgeries, including:
- Open-heart surgery
- Heart catheterizations & stent placements
- Pacemaker/AICD implantation
- Ablations & electrophysiology interventions
- Cardiovascular surgeries
This unit focuses on rapid assessment, advanced cardiac monitoring, and multidisciplinary collaboration.Unit Details
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3 to 1:5 depending on acuity
- High-acuity patient population in a comprehensive stroke and STEMI-certified facility
Key Responsibilities - Provide high-quality nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards.
- Monitor, evaluate, and support patients recovering from cardiac procedures.
- Deliver care aligned with state Nursing Practice Acts and ANA Standards of Practice.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Support patient education regarding cardiac recovery and post-discharge care.
Qualifications - Experience: At least 1 year of acute-care RN experience in cardiac or similar specialty.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
- Licensure: Active Missouri RN license (or compact equivalent).
- Certifications:
- BLS required at hire
- ACLS required within 6 months
