Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description We are looking for a dedicated and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers the opportunity to play a key role in managing customer payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to office operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities :

• Process and record customer payments in the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Monitor transactions across multiple bank accounts and maintain detailed records.
• Scan and deposit checks electronically, with occasional trips to the bank for physical deposits.
• Reconcile payment batches to ensure account accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Distribute monthly account statements and follow up on overdue balances with professionalism.
• Communicate effectively with customers to address payment inquiries or account concerns.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and support year-end accounting close processes.
• Organize and maintain both digital and physical files related to financial and property records.
• Provide general office support, including ordering supplies, filing, and assisting during audits or budget preparation. Requirements
• Proven experience in accounts receivable or a similar financial role.
• Familiarity with collections and cash application processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
• Knowledge of billing functions and cash collection procedures.
• Understanding of standard accounting practices and reconciliation processes.
