Senior Paralegal – Commercial Contracts & Legal Operations
Epson, a global technology leader recognized for innovation, reliability, and quality, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Paralegal to join our Legal Affairs team. In this key role, you will support commercial contracting activities, legal operations, and cross-functional teams throughout the organization.
You will work closely with attorneys, business stakeholders, and external partners to help drive efficient contract processes, improve legal workflows, and support a variety of legal matters across the company. This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact by strengthening operational excellence within a dynamic, highly collaborative environment.
This position is based out of Epson America's headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA with an opportunity for a hybrid schedule.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Serving as a primary liaison between business teams, Legal Department attorneys, and external vendors for commercial contract support.
- Managing, prioritizing, and tracking contract requests and approvals in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
- Reviewing contractual documents to answer non-complex legal questions, escalating issues or risks to attorneys as appropriate.
- Preparing and drafting routine, non-complex contracts, such as Statements of Work, utilizing approved templates and forms, following internal policies and procedures
- Supporting litigation and pre-litigation matters by organizing and reporting information from multiple sources.
- Maintaining and supporting the company’s records management program, including coordination with Sr. Counsel and administrative staff on record retention and purging.
- Developing, implementing, and refining procedures to improve accuracy, approvals, record-keeping, and overall legal operations efficiency.
- Maintaining and updating contracting templates, litigation templates, and internal playbooks.
- Monitoring and evaluating contract-management processes to measure effectiveness and ensure compliance.
- Providing general Legal Department support, including research assistance, special projects, and legal training initiatives.
Skills & Experience Needed
- Contract negotiation & drafting experience: capable of reviewing and preparing routine agreements, understanding key contractual terms, and recognizing when issues require attorney escalation.
- Strong business judgment: able to distinguish between matters that require legal review vs. those that can be handled independently.
- Experience supporting a high-volume commercial contracting environment.
- Familiarity with managing or coordinating vendor contracts, with flexibility to support additional contract types as needed.
- Ability to identify potential legal or risk-related issues and flag them appropriately.
- Experience maintaining templates, playbooks, or standardized legal processes.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to track multiple matters simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with contract-management tools, documentation systems, and general legal operations support.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 5–8 years of paralegal or contracts-focused experience.

The starting hourly base pay for this role is between USD $39.82 and $54.76 (equivalent to $82,825 to $113,900 per year based on 2,080 hours) . Please note that this position’s salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
