Director Of Operations

The Director of Operations is responsible for system-wide service lines as follows : EVS, Food and Nutrition, Patient Transport, Laundry and Linen, Lab, Radiology, Rehabilitation services, Respiratory, and Neuro Diagnostics. This position will oversee other departments or projects as assigned by the facility President and SVP of Professional and Support Services. The Director will coordinate facility logistics for repairs, maintenance, infrastructure or equipment upgrades, and renovation and construction projects and reports on status and barriers and to assist with coordination for all projects at medical center campus and satellite locations. This position will seek the input of staff in decision making and facilitate decision making within the departments. This position will be required to meet The Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements.

Education : Bachelor's degree, required. Masters degree in Business Administration / Healthcare Administration or related field, required.

Experience : Minimum of five years of experience in a healthcare system setting. Experience with managing multi-disciplinary groups and multiple areas including clinical and non-clinical areas, required.

Licensure / certification / registration : Appropriate licensure / certification in state, if applicable.

Additional Skills Required : Thorough knowledge of healthcare policies and procedures. Thorough knowledge of principles of fiscal and human resource management. Considerable skill in data analysis, organization, and presentation. Extensive ability to work and manage daily operations using a high involvement, multidisciplinary team concept. Ability and willingness to work in an evolving healthcare delivery system. Extensive oral and written communication skills, negotiation skills. Strong leadership skills such as creativity, cooperation, independent judgement, ability to delegate, adaptability, perseverance, high energy level, and a strong work ethic.
