Machine Design Engineer
ABOUT THE JOB :
- Rate of Pay : $80,000+ annually (depending on experience)
- Schedule : Monday-Friday; 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM
- Location : Carol Stream, IL (DuPage County)
- Hire Type : Full-Time, Permanent
JOB SUMMARY :
The Machinery Design Engineer will be responsible for the full lifecycle of machinery design, from concept through completion. This role involves working closely with production teams to create advanced thermoforming equipment that meets high standards of efficiency, reliability, and performance. The position requires technical expertise, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure the delivery of top-quality custom machinery.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Develop detailed mechanical designs using CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD 2D, etc.)Perform engineering calculations and simulations to verify structural integrity and performanceCreate and maintain technical documentation, including blueprints and specificationsCollaborate with vendors and suppliers to select and integrate componentsSpecify motor horsepower, gearbox torque, bearings, and shafts for various applicationsApply knowledge of materials science, mechanics, and manufacturing processes in designEnsure welding methods and processes are integrated effectively into designsWork closely with production and other departments to address design challenges and optimize performanceQUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldProven experience in machinery design and developmentProficiency with CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD 2D, etc.)Strong understanding of materials science, mechanics, and manufacturing processesFamiliarity with welding methods and processesStrong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skillsAbility to work independently and manage projects from concept to completionBENEFITS :
