Fleet Support Engineer

Our Client, an AV Manufacturing company, is looking for a Fleet Support Engineer for their Foster City, CA location.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for Tier escalations on Compute system issues including GPU, PSU, SSD, networking.
• Conduct comprehensive log review to identify hardware, software, tooling, and process failures on fleet vehicles
• Develop thorough troubleshooting guides for Tier and Tier escalations, enabling consistent and holistic diagnosis across all service depots
• Lead deep-dive investigations into novel failure modes using root cause analysis methodologies like -Step or D ( Disciplines) problem solving techniques
• Develop short term mitigations and long term correction actions to improve vehicle safety and update, and prevent recurring issues
• Perform hardware bring-up and validation procedures for new vehicle components.
• Monitor fleet-wide telemetry to identify emerging trends in hardware degradation or firmware/software regression before they become critical failures.
• Drive closed-loop feedback by translating field failure data into engineering change requests to improve sub-system design

Requirements:

• BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields with a minimum of + years of relevant industry experience
• Experience and skill in determining the root cause of complex issues involving HW, FW, and SW
• Deep understanding of computer architecture, GPUs, PCIe devices, SSDs, network cards
• Experience with the Linux platform - debugging failures using command line tools, parsing kernel and system logs
• Experience with diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes/picoscope, CANalyzer, thermal cameras)
• Knowledge of automotive protocols such as CAN and automotive ethernet
• Knowledge of computer networking (TCP/IP, UDP, SSH, firewall and security basics)
• Experience with diagnosing complex issues with sensor systems (LiDAR, camera, radar)
• Experience with harness debugging and repair
• Proficient in Python and git/version management tools
