For over 100 years Maguire has been an industry leader in the fabrication construction and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Shop Laborer will perform a variety of tasks within the fabrication shop.

The shift will run Friday Saturday and Sunday; 12-hour days (6 : 00am-6 : 30pm) . Work 36 hours and get paid for 40 as long as specific conditions are met!

Essential Functions :

  • Cleans and lubricates equipment maintains a manufacturing area free from debris and dirt and readies or puts away tools as assigned.
  • Closely follows directions to operate machinery hold or supply materials and tools and load or unload items on machinery.
  • Cares for property by repairing the yard shoveling and removing snow.
  • By using an oxygen acetylene torch cut steel scrap material and carry to bin to assist with burn table operations.
  • Fill in blaster for continuing blast booth operations if full-time blaster is absent.
  • Performs any unskilled job at the fabrication shop.
  • Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Job training for this position is provided by the department trainer.

    • Work Environment :

  • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
  • Must be able to see details at close range.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse construction sites by climbing balancing lifting walking stooping and carrying materials.
