About this Role

As an Account Executive in Software Sales, you will play a critical role in driving BerniePortal’s growth by generating and closing new business opportunities. You will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying leads, and setting up meetings. You will also have the benefit of a sales development resource for business generation efforts. The ideal candidate is passionate about a SaaS sales career, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a strong drive to close the next sale.

Compensation and Benefits

BerniePortal believes in compensating salespeople fairly and in proportion to the revenue that they generate without any caps.

  • $80,000 annual salary
  • Target OTE of $125,000+
  • Full health and ancillary benefits, including HSA and Dependent Care FSA
  • Employer-paid Life, Short-Term, and Long-Term Disability insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match (eligible after 3 months)

What will you do in this role?

Drive the entire sales lifecycle from prospecting to closing new partnership relationships

Follow up with Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and prospecting for new business opportunities

Become a product expert across our entire platform and understand the competitor landscape

The ability to grasp complex solution sales messaging and convey it to prospects

Grow into a strategic role by developing relationships as a trusted advisor to generate referral relationships

Work closely with Account Management and Client Success teams to ensure a smooth implementation for new clients

Note : this role is in-office located at our Nashville headquarters.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum 3 years of experience in sales.

Experience in all facets of a complete sales cycle including hunting, developing, and closing new business.

Willingness to hunt - you will get some inbound leads and have a sales development resource, but we also expect self-generation activity to drive your pipeline

Must be comfortable challenging, confronting, and asking challenging questions.

Must sell consultative-ly - not on price, product features, benefits, bells, or whistles.

Bonus : previous experience as an Account Executive, preferably in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) industry to insurance brokers.
