Position Purpose

The Customs Entry Writer opportunity is designed for a customs professional capable of facilitating an impact role with the PGL Customs Brokerage Team. The Customs Entry Writer will facilitate the preparation and submission of the documentation necessary for the clearance of goods through customs for PGL’s most valued and dynamic customers.

Tasks

• Review import and export documents, including invoices, packing lists, and other relevant paperwork, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and submit customs entries.
• Ensure that all shipments meet applicable customs laws and regulations, including those related to tariffs, duties, and trade restrictions.
• Classify goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) codes.
• Calculate the estimated customs duties and applicable taxes to be paid, based on the value and classification of the goods.
• Coordinate communication to prevent or resolve any issues or delays related to customs clearance.
• Create accurate and timely records of all customs entries and related documentation.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Years of Experience: 1 - 3 Years of progressive experience facilitating customs clearance and compliance responsibilities.

Education: Industry related degree and/or certification.
