Summary :
Performs a gradually increasing percentage of journey-level duties while learning the plumbing trade as a regularly indentured apprentice. Apprentices assist in the assembly, installation and repair of pipes and fittings and fixtures of heating, water, drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes. Will test pipes and fixtures using water and air to detect and locate leaks. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles using hand power tools. Hang steel supports from ceiling joints to hold pipes in place. Install underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems.

It may also require exposure to chemicals and hazardous materials, working around and with machinery having moving parts, working from heights and in confined work spaces.
