Job Summary
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) provides front-line patient interaction and high-quality specimen collection for diagnostic testing. The role includes performing venipuncture, capillary draws, specimen processing, and patient service support while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and strict confidentiality. The PSR I helps ensure a safe and positive experience for all patients and is expected to uphold organizational standards while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection according to established procedures.Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment in the Patient Service Center.Accurately verify patient demographics and ensure proper specimen labeling.Conduct forensic and clinical specimen processing tasks with confidence.Complete all required documentation, logs, and records.Deliver exceptional customer service while supporting patient needs and questions.Work with minimal on-site supervision and manage multiple priorities.Maintain flexibility regarding staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required.Promote organizational values and represent the company professionally.Required Experience
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.One or more years of phlebotomy preferred.Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.Keyboard / data entry experience required.Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.Phlebotomy certification preferred (required only in CA, NV, WA - not required in PA).Required Skills
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and customer-service abilities.Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.Preferred Skills
