    Job Summary

    The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) provides front-line patient interaction and high-quality specimen collection for diagnostic testing. The role includes performing venipuncture, capillary draws, specimen processing, and patient service support while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and strict confidentiality. The PSR I helps ensure a safe and positive experience for all patients and is expected to uphold organizational standards while working independently in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection according to established procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment in the Patient Service Center.
  • Accurately verify patient demographics and ensure proper specimen labeling.
  • Conduct forensic and clinical specimen processing tasks with confidence.
  • Complete all required documentation, logs, and records.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while supporting patient needs and questions.
  • Work with minimal on-site supervision and manage multiple priorities.
  • Maintain flexibility regarding staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required.
  • Promote organizational values and represent the company professionally.

    • Required Experience

  • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
  • One or more years of phlebotomy preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
  • Keyboard / data entry experience required.

    • Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required only in CA, NV, WA - not required in PA).

    • Required Skills

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and customer-service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.

    • Preferred Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to changing workflow needs.
  • Courteous, transparent communication with patients and coworkers.
