Job Description:
Are you a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with mortgage industry experience? Join our dynamic team as a Loan Officer Assistant, where you will be an essential partner to a top-producing Loan Officer, helping to deliver an exceptional experience for every borrower.
This is a hybrid position offering flexibility with some required in-office time.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement & Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers in the Loan Officer's absence, answering general policy and procedure questions, and providing proactive updates to borrowers, real estate agents, and title companies on the loan status.
- Initial File Preparation: Assist in gathering critical, missing documentation and information from customers to prepare a complete preliminary loan package for the processing team.
- Prequalification: Utilize information provided by the Loan Officer and run automated underwriting systems (AUS) (e.g., Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac portals) to pre-qualify customers and check loan eligibility.
- Pipeline Coordination: Coordinate and schedule loan closings and work directly with appraisers to secure the official appraisal report.
- Sales & Marketing Support: Assist the Loan Officer with cultivating new business through database maintenance and executing targeted marketing campaigns (mail, email, and internet).
- Administrative Tasks: Perform necessary administrative duties to support the Loan Officer's day-to-day activities, including managing databases, faxing, emailing, and making phone calls.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Licensing: Active SAFE Act Compliant registration and Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license in the state where loans will be originated.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with a strong ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with MS Office products and experience utilizing Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS).
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Decision Making: Proven experience analyzing and interpreting data to make solid business decisions.
