Position Summary
Arizona Athletic Grounds is seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Sports Performance Coach to join our team on a part-time basis. This position will work directly with athletes of all ages and skill levels in a high-energy, professional training environment. The Sports Performance Coach will design, implement, and lead training sessions that improve strength, conditioning, speed, agility, mobility, and overall athletic performance, while ensuring the highest levels of safety and professionalism.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in strength & conditioning, human performance, kinesiology, athletic training, or related fields to gain hands-on experience while contributing to a growing performance program.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and assist in the delivery of sports performance training sessions for athletes, teams, and groups.
- Demonstrate and teach proper form, technique, and mechanics for strength, conditioning, and speed / agility drills.
- Collaborate with the Sports Performance team to develop and implement safe, progressive, and sport-specific programs.
- Track and monitor attendance, performance data, and athlete progress.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized training environment.
- Ensure proper equipment setup, takedown, and storage for training sessions.
- Educate athletes on recovery strategies, mobility, and general performance principles.
- Build positive relationships with athletes, coaches, and parents, representing AAG with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Support the performance staff with special events, testing days, and camps as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Human Performance, Athletic Training, or related field (or currently pursuing).Certification from a nationally recognized governing body (e.g., CSCS, NASM, NSCA-CPT, USAW) preferred.Current CPR / AED certification (or willingness to obtain prior to hire).Previous experience in sports performance, strength & conditioning, or athletic coaching preferred.Strong communication, leadership, and motivational skills.Ability to adapt coaching style to athletes of different ages, sports, and skill levels.Dependable, professional, and committed to continuous learning.Physical Requirements
Ability to demonstrate and coach athletic movements, strength lifts, and conditioning drills.Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and moving equipment as needed.Extended periods of standing, active movement, and vocal coaching.Schedule : 15-20 hours per week, with required availability in the early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on athlete and team training schedules.
