Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in
Windows environments and Chef to support and modernize large-scale infrastructure through automation and configuration management. This is a highly hands-on role with a strong emphasis on
Chef cookbook development for Windows and
PowerShell-driven automation.
You’ll work closely with client engineering teams to reduce a substantial infrastructure and configuration backlog while improving reliability, consistency, and scalability across Windows systems. This role is ideal for someone comfortable working deep within Windows automation frameworks and enterprise environments.
What You’ll Do -
Design, build, and maintain automation for Windows server environments

Develop, enhance, and maintain Chef cookbooks with a strong focus on Windows nodes

Use PowerShell scripting to automate system configuration, patching, and operational tasks

Troubleshoot and resolve configuration drift and deployment issues

Partner with client engineering teams to prioritize and execute against a large DevOps backlog

Improve the reliability, consistency, and repeatability of Windows infrastructure

Document automation patterns, standards, and operational runbooks

Support production systems and ongoing operational needs as required
Required Qualifications -
4+ years of experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering

Strong hands-on experience managing Windows Server environments

Deep experience with Chef, specifically Chef cookbook development for Windows

Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for automation and system management

Solid understanding of Windows services, registry, networking, and security concepts

Experience working through large backlogs in complex enterprise environments

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with distributed client teams
Nice to Have -
Experience with other configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc.)

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines supporting infrastructure automation

Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure

Experience supporting hybrid or enterprise Windows environments

Background in infrastructure modernization initiatives
Education & Certifications -
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience

Relevant certifications are a plus, but not required
