About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to oversee all property maintenance operations at our hotel / resort. This leadership role ensures the safety, functionality, and appearance of the property by managing preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, capital projects, and a dedicated engineering team. You'll play a key role in both strategic planning and day-to-day operations, keeping our guest experience at the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee building, systems, and grounds maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
- Lead, schedule, and manage the engineering / maintenance team
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs using Hilton / Aimbridge systems
- Ensure compliance with safety, code, and brand standards (AIMSAFE, OSHA, etc.)
- Coordinate vendor work, inspections, and equipment servicing
- Manage department budget, inventory, and project timelines
- Contribute to capital planning, renovations, and long-term property improvements
- Maintain thorough documentation of repairs, inspections, and safety procedures
- Actively participate in hotel Safety Committees and brand-led initiatives
- Serve as a hands-on leader and liaison for ownership, vendors, and senior leadership
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (preferred) and 5+ years of hospitality-centric engineering / facilities experience in a similarly sized resortPrior leadership experience required; hotel or resort background preferredLicensed in a trade (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) highly desirableStrong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs, safety codes, and systems managementProficient in Microsoft Windows and facility tracking systemsValid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle recordExcellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsMust be calm under pressure and capable of working independentlyFamiliar with AIMSAFE or similar compliance programsWhy Join Us
