Pharmacy Technician – Full-Time
Location : Portsmouth Naval Medical Center & Surrounding Clinics (Virginia) Employer : U.S. Got People (USGP)
Pay : $21.50 per hour + Health and Welfare Stipend
Schedule : Monday – Sunday | Full-Time - Holidays, Weekends, All shifts
U.S. Got People (USGP) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide full-time support at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center and its affiliated clinics. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of military service members, their families, and veterans.
Clinic Locations May Include :
NMC Portsmouth, BHC Boone, BHC Dam Neck, BHC Oceana, TPC Chesapeake, TPC Virginia Beach, TPC Suffolk, BHC NAVSTA Norfolk, and Scott Center.

Minimum Qualifications :
Education & Certification :
Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), or a formal hospital, technical, or retail-based training program
Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or a military equivalent
Experience :
At least one year of pharmacy technician experience after completing a qualifying training
Immunization Requirements
(Must be current or able to obtain) :
Hepatitis B (series and titer)
Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
Varicella (Chickenpox)
TB (Tuberculosis) test
Seasonal Influenza (flu) vaccine
COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable) Key Responsibilities Include :
Accurately fill new and refill outpatient prescriptions and enter orders into pharmacy systems
Assist patients and providers by answering medication-related questions, addressing refill requests, and identifying potential drug interactions or adverse reactions
Conduct quality assurance tasks such as drug storage inspections, reviewing expiration dates, and generating error or workload documentation
Maintain pharmacy supply operations including placing orders, restocking
shelves, and generating inventory or “not in stock” reports
