The University of Maryland School of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track faculty position in the Division of Operative Dentistry& Cariology Department of Comprehensive Dentistry. We are seeking dynamic enthusiastic candidates with a strong commitment to dental education and a collaborative spirit. Ideal applicants will demonstrate a positive attitude toward teaching and a desire to grow professionally within academic dentistry.

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will contribute significantly to both preclinical and clinical instruction in Operative Dentistry. Approximately 60-80% of the role will be dedicated to teaching with the remaining time allocated to scholarly activities service and professional development.

Key Duties Include :

Teaching preclinical and clinical courses in restorative dentistry with a focus on operative dentistry for DDS students.

Serving as course director and instructor for one or more core or elective courses including course development and student mentoring.

Supporting student learning development and decision-making to promote academic success and well-being.

Collaborating with faculty to enhance teaching strategies and improve student outcomes.

Participating in scholarly activities within and beyond the department.

Engaging in departmental school and university committees meetings and community service.

Maintaining a professional development plan that includes research or other scholarly pursuits.

Conducting or contributing to dental research initiatives.

Supervising undergraduate or graduate student research projects as needed.

Demonstrating innovation in curriculum development and / or continuing education.

Contributing to the professional community through peer review grant panels and participation in national / international conferences.

Exhibiting strong interpersonal leadership and organizational skills with a clear commitment to teaching and scholarship.

Responding to assignments from the Chair of Comprehensive Dentistry and the Dean of the School of Dentistry to support departmental and school operations.

Demonstrating teamwork in planning problem-solving and decision-making.
