Tax Accountant I

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc (HATCI) is looking for a Tax Accountant for our Superior Township, MI facility. This role requires prior accounting experience, along with great knowledge of current law, regulations, and tax requirements. The successful candidate will have a keen attention to detail, be highly organized, and know a significant deal about tax management.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Preparation of individual income tax returns
  • Assist in preparation of corporate and state tax returns for multiple states
  • Personal property tax preparation for multiple states
  • Support the preparation of the R&D tax credit for return, including conduct interviews and prepare substantiation documentation
  • Support all IRS / State / city / local tax audit, review and examination inquires
  • Assist in preparation of various business-related tax returns and forms such as 1099s, fuel tax credit
  • Aid in resolution of tax notices
  • Company Diners statement reconciliation
  • Prepare operating expense report
  • Prepare contractor OT report
  • BS reconciliation
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Travel up to 10% of time domestically and internationally

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
  • Comprehensive understanding of tax return processes, rules, and regulations

    • WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 0-2 years of job experience
