Introduction :
The Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching, and Technology (CELTT) is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering high-quality computing and media resources and services for student learning, administrative operations, faculty and staff development, and delivery of instruction and services. The primary purpose of this position is to support video production services and computer tech support.
Duties and Responsibilities :
(NOTE :
Knowledge of Mac and PC computer systems, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Mac and PC computer systems.
Researches and consults with faculty on new technologies, and makes recommendations.
Makes thoughtful and informed recommendations to the College regarding the procurement of equipment.
Troubleshoots software problems as needed.
Trains faculty and staff on software and best practices for education.
Assists faculty and staff in troubleshooting software problems as needed.
Works with and provide technical advice to faculty and staff using digital media.
Responsible for assisting management, application, and advancement of the college website, intranet, and other institutional websites.
Assists clients in interpreting and adhering to federal, UH, and KCC policies and guidelines.
Maintains currency of knowledge in the computing field by pursuing a course of professional development as agreed upon with the immediate supervisor and department head.
Works outside normally scheduled work hours, including day, night, weekend, and / or holiday hours as needed and directed by the CELTT coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a pertinent baccalaureate educational degree in communications, information technology, educational technology, or related field and 3 years of progressively responsible professional information technology experience with responsibilities for mixed multimedia production including video, audio, and animation and the specification for asset management and online interactivity, of which 2 years of the experience must have been comparable in scope and complexity to the next lower payband in the University of Hawai'i broadband system; or any equivalent combination of education and / or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
Considerable working knowledge of distance learning, multimedia development, user interface design, and video production as demonstrated by the broad knowledge and understanding of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving information technology concepts, principles and methodology.
Considerable working knowledge and understanding of the broad technology, systems, hardware and software associated with Windows and Mac computers, Internet protocols, including support, and administration of related servers.
Demonstrated ability to recognize a wide range of intricate problems, use reasoning and logic to determine accurate causes, and apply principles and practices to determine, evaluate, integrate, and implement practical and thorough solutions in an effective and timely manner.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.
Desirable Qualifications
Extensive working knowledge of setting up, configuring, and maintaining streaming technology servers.
Extensive working knowledge in the use of OSX Server for media distribution.
Extensive working knowledge of server security protocols.
Extensive working knowledge of streaming technology.
Extensive working knowledge of user-interface design.
Extensive knowledge of instructional design principles.
Considerable working knowledge and understanding of mobile devices and operating systems such as iOS and Android.
Extensive knowledge & demonstrated proficiency in the use of compression tools to optimize files for multiple platforms (Online, offline, print and mobile).
Extensive knowledge of embedding media assets into an online learning environment.
Extensive knowledge of software used for closed captioning (MacCaption).
Experience and demonstrated proficiency in setup and maintenance of RSS feeds such as podcasts, blogs, vlogs, and iTunesU.
At least one (1) year of professional experience in troubleshooting and maintaining hardware associated with creation of online assets, including cameras, mixers, and lighting systems.
Considerable experience in production studio management including setup of lighting, set design, maintenance of equipment, and scheduling.
At least one (1) year of professional experience with media production in higher education
At least one (1) year of professional experience in the use of hardware and software associated with audio / video pre-production, production, and post-production.
Ability to use social media tools and mobile applications.
At least one (1) year of professional experience working with people of diverse socioeconomic and multicultural backgrounds.
Demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.
Ability to work a variable work schedule, and work outside normally scheduled work hours, including day, night, weeken,d and / or holiday hours, as directed.
Demonstrated ability to speak, read, comprehend, interpret, and write fluently in English; and interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally, and by preparation of reports and other materials.
