Cost Accounting Lead / Manager – Hybrid

Location : Pasadena, TX

Compensation : Up to $125,000 annually

About the Role :

Our client, a growing distribution company with in-house manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and Canada, is seeking a Cost Accounting Lead / Manager to join their Pasadena team. This is a hands-on, department-of-one role that reports directly to the Controller and plays a key part in managing and improving the company’s cost accounting function. The position is hybrid and offers excellent exposure to both operations and leadership.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Maintain and update inventory costs, including periodic cost rolls and adjustments.
  • Reconcile and analyze inventory and COGS accounts, including Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI).
  • Perform monthly close duties, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Partner with manufacturing and branch operations to provide financial analysis and insight.
  • Conduct standard and average cost analysis to ensure accuracy and transparency in reporting.
  • Support ad hoc cost and inventory projects as assigned to help drive operational and financial improvements.
  • Utilize SAGE X3 ERP for cost accounting and reporting processes.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (distribution industry experience a plus).
  • Strong experience with standard and average costing .
  • Hands-on experience reconciling Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI) accounts.
  • Background in small company environments with high transaction volumes strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with SAGE ERP (SAGE X3 preferred) .
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a role that requires both tactical execution and strategic insight.
