[job_card.job_description]Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping per surgical standards Confirm that instruments and equipment are ready and functional Participate in team briefings to review the surgical plan Provide direct assistance to the surgeon (e.g., retraction, hemostasis, suturing) Use advanced techniques and instruments to support precision during procedures Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control protocols Anticipate the surgical team's needs to facilitate procedural flow Assist with patient transfer to recovery Complete, accurate surgical documentation Participate in post-op debriefings and quality improvement discussions Current Surgical Assistant license issued by the Texas Medical Board Certified by a recognized body (ABSA or NSAA required) Active BLS or ACLS certification (AHA or equivalent) Minimum 2 years’ experience in surgical assisting (hospital or outpatient setting) Skilled in multiple surgical specialties, including cardiovascular, orthopedic, general, neurosurgery, and minimally invasive procedures Strong communication and teamwork skills; proficient in medical terminology Detail-oriented and able to manage high-pressure situations effectively Foreign MDs must pass TOEFL Test
