Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a busy Emergency Department position requiring a NC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of recent ED experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a high-volume Emergency Department with 34 beds and 32 vertical care areasCares for all ages with diagnoses including trauma stabilization, mental health crises, and complex medical emergenciesTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors12-hour day shifts from 0700 to 1900, every other weekend requiredHoliday coverage required for 75% of holidaysFloating required within the region to multiple facilities, including potential mid-shift floatingNo on-call requirementsResponsibilities include stabilization of trauma cases, management of high acuity mental health and addiction presentations, and a variety of acute medical emergenciesWorks with a team consisting of CNAs, a receptionist, and charge nurse supportDepartment provides a collaborative and team-focused cultureInitial orientation includes hospital onboarding and two departmental training daysScrub color is navyFree parking is availableFirst-time travelers may be considered, though preference is given to those with previous travel experienceUp to 6 days of requested time off (excluding holidays) can be approved, with additional time to be added to the contract for missed hoursRequirements
Active NC or compact RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experienceCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPITNCC certification is preferredProficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK / TPA administration, and conscious sedationExperience caring for both adult and pediatric ED populationsEpic EMR experience preferredPermanent home address must be at least 50 miles from the facilityBenefits
