Overview

Schedule : Day Shift. Hours may vary depending on assignments.

Purpose Statement / Position Summary : As a part of the Ambulatory Float Pool, provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate appointments and assist patients and families as needed. Participate in a variety of duties associated with daily clinic preparation process, from customer service, message distribution, appointment scheduling, encounter registration, referrals management, financial clearance and verification. Must be highly flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, have a proactive approach, work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a team environment. Coordinates ancillary services, consultations, and referrals ordered for patients. Answers and screens incoming calls, takes and relays messages to clinicians. In instances of short staffing and high demand / peak times when ambulatory clinics require staffing to ensure smooth operations, the Ambulatory Float Pool – Patient Service Representative II would assist in coverage of assuming the duties of Ambulatory Float Pool – Patient Service Representative I.

Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience :

Required :

• 3 years experience in customer service, with 1 of those years in a medical office setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and telephone manner. Must be highly flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, have a proactive approach, work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a team

environment.

Preferred :

This position requires traveling to all CHLA clinics depending on need.

Education / Licensure / Certification : High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Pay Scale Information

$43,680.00-$68,650.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
