BI Consultant

Description :

We are seeking an experienced BI Developer to lead the migration of IBM Cognos reports and dashboards to Microsoft Power BI . The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in both reporting platforms, strong SQL / data modeling skills, and experience working with complex business intelligence environments in financial or enterprise domains.

Key Responsibilities :

• Analyze existing Cognos reports, dashboards, and data models to plan and execute migration to Power BI.
• Recreate and optimize reports in Power BI using DAX, Power Query, and data modeling best practices.
• Collaborate with business users and data teams to validate migrated reports against legacy Cognos outputs.
• Develop and manage data connections, datasets, and dataflows for accurate and scalable reporting.
• Ensure data governance, performance optimization, and security alignment throughout the migration process.
• Document migration approach, mapping, and validation results for audit and handover purposes.
• Provide knowledge transfer and user training on Power BI capabilities and self-service reporting.
