Position Summary
The at the School of Architecture and Planning at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (SUNY), invites candidates for an
Adjunct Instructor who can enthusiastically inspire and engage urban planning and architecture students to learn by doing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates should have the ability to teach seated or online courses in architecture, planning or design-related disciplines or conduct research/service in support of the mission and vision of the school. In addition to instruction in our core academic programs in environmental design and urban planning, candidates may also be prepared to teach courses in support of our other programs in historic preservation, real estate development, and international development and global health.
Essential Functions: - Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of urban and regional planning
- Provides students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in subject area
- Evaluates students’ performance and provides effective feedback to guide student learning and success Responsible for contributing to and maintaining an inclusive and collaborative environment
- Ability to conduct research or service in support of the mission and vision of the school

- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or extensive professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in urban planning or related field.
- PhD preferred for doctoral-level courses.
