Supervisor Non-Gaming
Reporting to the Non-Gaming Controller, the Supervisor Non-Gaming coordinates and assists with the creation of a multitude of accounting activities including revenue reconciliation, audit preparation, and General Ledger activities. Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Non-Gaming Audit and Accounting Department. The Supervisor also ensures proper completion of daily Non-Gaming Audit and Accounting Functions, timely and accurate reporting of Hotel, Food and Beverage, and Retail Revenues.
Core Responsibilities :
Oversee day-to-day operation of the Non-Gaming Audit and Accounting Department.
Provide leadership and training for Non-Gaming Audit and Accounting Staff.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily audit procedures and recording of non-gaming revenue.
Evaluates existing daily audit and accounting / auditing procedures and proactively seeks opportunities to improve both efficiency and quality of the accounting / audit function.
Establish and execute cash handling standards including establishing employee banking standards.
Ensure audit anomalies, revenue, and cash variances are properly investigated and resolved in a timely manner
Collaborate with Hotel, Retail, and Food and Beverage Management in development and revision of internal controls and audit procedures.
Other duties as assigned by department leadership.
Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
Qualifications :
Two to four-year college degree or equivalent education / experience.
A minimum of two years' experience in related supervision position or five years of hotel cashiering and audit associate experience.
Ability to perform critical analysis and manage wide range of information.
Operational knowledge of Lodging Management and Infogenesis POS systems.
Ability to delegate, manage manpower, and organize complex projects and establishes priorities consistent with SMGHA and department / hotel objectives.
Able to communicate to both, guests, and fellow team members, professionally and positively.
Proficiency in Excel and other Windows Office applications.
Ability to obtain / renew all government required licenses or certification, specifically a Nevada Gaming license.
Physical Demands :
Work is performed in an office setting with varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
May be exposed to smoke.
Prolonged sitting or standing may be required, with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.
Frequent contact with executives, department management, employees, and guests, requiring excellent eye / hand coordination and mobility.
Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols, with strong attention to detail.
Office-based environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
Flexible work hours may be required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
