About the Role :

We are seeking a licensed Pathologist Assistant to join the pathology department at a well-established healthcare facility in Saranac Lake, New York. This is a travel opportunity designed for experienced candidates who want to provide hands-on support in a high-performing lab setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting pathologists with surgical specimen processing, histology, cytology, and autopsy pathology while ensuring proper documentation, safety compliance, and specimen integrity.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform surgical pathology, cytology, histology, and autopsy specimen preparation
• Assist pathologists during autopsy and surgical procedures
• Use Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) for accurate patient documentation
• Prepare and stain slides, perform microscopic analysis, and karyotyping
• Ensure compliance with all state licensure and laboratory safety protocols
• Maintain specimen integrity throughout processing stages
• Provide technical support and mentorship to lab support personnel
• Participate in quality control activities and maintain technical expertise through education
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of records and reports
