Recreation Leader - Athletics

Job Description

The City of Renton is hiring part-time Recreation Leaders (Levels 1, 2, and 3) to support our Youth & Adult Sports Programs. Key responsibilities include implementing and overseeing programs and events, delivering excellent customer service, maintaining facilities and supplies, and instructing and assisting participants. Recreation Leaders will also support and facilitate programming and general recreation activities, supervise participants with a focus on safety and education, handle site supervision, program setup and upkeep, officiate / keep score, and provide first aid as needed. This role involves both indoor and outdoor work, including in inclement weather, across various recreation facilities.

Recreation Leaders are involved in a variety of sports and clinics, including :

• Basketball (Youth & Adult)
• Cross Country (Youth)
• Pickleball (Youth & Adult)
• Renton Rookies Sports Clinics (Youth)
• Soccer (Youth)
• T-Ball / Coach Pitch (Youth)
• Track & Field (Youth)
• Tennis (Youth)
• Volleyball (Youth & Adult)

Hourly Rates :

Recreation Leader 1 : $20.90 per hour

Recreation Leader 2 : $23.00 per hour

Recreation Leader 3 : $26.00 per hour

Placement at the Recreation Leader level is dependent on years of experience and qualifications.

Reports To : Recreation Supervisor, Recreation Program Coordinator, or Designee
