Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department position requiring NM or compact state licensure and current TNCC certification.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital with Level I Trauma and teaching hospital designationCare for critical patients, including many ED admits and ED holding casesTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5Shifts are available for 36 or 48 hours per week, primarily nights (19 : 00-07 : 30)Weekend shifts required as needed, with weekend nights including Friday, Saturday, and SundayFloating to Adult Progressive Care Units (PCUs) is expected based on staffing needs, optional floating to Pediatric EDCharting is done using Cerner EMRBlack scrubs required, not provided by the facilityAdminister medications, including IVs, and accurately document and communicate clinical findingsIncreased number of admitted hold patients currently seen in the unitNight and weekend shifts part of regular schedulingFirst time travelers may be considered if meeting Level I Trauma experience requirementsNo on-call responsibilitiesParking is provided at no costRequirements
Active NM or compact RN license; NM license may be pending at time of considerationCurrent certifications required : Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS; can be pending)Must have TNCC certification before considerationMinimum 2 years of RN experience required; those with at least 1.5 years may be consideredLevel I Trauma experience strongly preferredCOVID-19 vaccination required, with medical or religious exemptions accepted upon proper documentationNo local candidates within 75 miles will be consideredBenefits
