The Role

HII seeks an experienced Senior Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit Analyst 4 to join our team! Responsibilities include :

• Support annual preparation and filing of the U.S. Federal R&D Tax Credit (Form 6765).
• Collaborate with business segments, technology teams, and other subject matter experts to identify qualified research activities and related expenditures.
• Assist in application of the IRS four-part test to assess eligibility of projects and activities.
• Analyze financial data, project records, and technical documents to substantiate claims.
• Prepare and / or review externally prepared R&D tax credit reports and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with governing IRS regulations and applicable court cases.
• Work closely with internal subject matter experts to optimize tax positions.
• Assist in defending R&D tax credit claims in audits or inquiries from tax authorities.
• Assist in developing processes for identifying and capturing qualifying research activities and related expenses.
• Work with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments related to R&D incentives.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience, preferably with federal R&D tax credit; Master's Degree and 8 years of relevant professional experience.
