American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric RN for an acute care unit night shift, requiring pediatric experience and an active IL RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Acute care pediatric unit with 22 shared beds and capacity to flex with Pediatric Hematology / Oncology as neededMedical-surgical pediatric patient population including common diagnoses such as hyperbilirubinemia, neuro, diabetes, failure to thrive, cystic fibrosis, COVID, and orthopedic casesNurse to patient ratio is 1 : 4 on the pediatric acute unitCertified PCTs assist with a 1 : 8-10 ratioShift consists of 12-hour nights, with weekend shifts required every other weekHoliday shifts required unless approved otherwise during the interviewFloating may be required within the children's hospital and to mom / baby units (not ICUs or chemo patients unless specifically experienced)Uses Epic EMR system for documentationPediatric monitor tech available for patients on monitors; brand information not specifiedRN may be assigned to care for both medical-surgical and monitored pediatric patientsCharge RN, pediatric crisis RN, and administrative supervisor are available 24 / 7Resident physician coverage is provided 24 / 7 with hospitalist on site until midnightRN may be required to troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as heated high flow and Bipap within specified nursing parametersOrientation includes two shifts with an option for extension pending management approvalScrub tops must be pediatric-appropriate and not revealing; any color or pattern is allowed, with solid-color pants requiredFirst-time travelers will be considered for this assignmentLocal candidates are accepted, though different rates may apply\n \n Requirements\n
