Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving quality systems. This role ensures that products and manufacturing processes comply with industry standards and customer requirements. The Quality Engineer will identify and resolve quality issues, support cross-functional teams, and help drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures across all stages of manufacturing and production.
- Conduct inspections, tests, and audits of incoming materials, in-process manufacturing, and final products to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
- Lead root cause analysis for nonconformances and document / manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Perform supplier quality assurance : evaluate / audit suppliers, ensure incoming materials meet requirements, and collaborate to resolve quality issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to ensure quality is built into early design / manufacturing stages.
- Maintain accurate quality documentation : inspection plans, procedures, audit reports, test reports, nonconformance logs, and quality metrics.
- Participate in or lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance with customer, company, and regulatory standards.
- Provide training to staff on quality procedures, inspection methods, and corrective-action processes.
- Monitor and analyze key quality metrics (defects, scrap, supplier performance, process capability) and recommend improvements.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and changes to existing products by ensuring quality requirements are included and validated.
Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline - or equivalent work experience.3-5+ years of experience in quality engineering or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in root cause analysis, CAPA, SPC, inspection methods, and audit procedures.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across teams and document / report findings clearly.Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, audit schedules, and quality metrics.Preferred :
Experience with supplier audits, supplier quality management, or supply chain quality control.Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, etc.).Experience with NPI, tooling qualification, and process validation.Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA) or willingness to pursue.
