Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a CT or compact license and strong trauma experience.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a short term acute care Level I Trauma CenterNight shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts, 19 : 00-07 : 00Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 6 for both days and nightsAssignment length is 13 weeksWill cross-train and float to other campuses as needed within scopeAssignment may include rotating to multiple campuses but will be primarily at one locationTravelers do not work in trauma / rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health unitsCharting is done using Epic EMR; experience preferredEvery other weekend shift is requiredNo first-time travelers will be considered for this assignmentNo on-call requirementsUp to 7 days of requested time off is auto-approved; requests longer than 7 days require approvalMake-up shifts for weekend call-outs will be rescheduled to another weekend within the next 6-week scheduling periodTeam environment with cross-training and support across campusesParking is available for a monthly feeMust live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel payRequirements
Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted for consideration)Minimum of 1.5 years of ED experience at a comparable large trauma center required; 2 years preferredCurrent certifications in BLS, ACLS, and TNCC requiredTrauma Center experience at a large facility is requiredFlu vaccine required with no declinations acceptedCOVID vaccine and booster required unless a documented medical or religious exemption is approvedMust not have any priors on nursing licenseReturning employees must have been gone for at least 2 years to be eligibleBenefits
