Commercial Estimator – Cedar Rapids, IA

Company Overview

A diversified commercial builder is seeking a Commercial Estimator to support competitive bids and negotiated projects.

Position Summary

The Estimator will lead takeoffs, subcontractor scoping, proposal development, and pricing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns.
  • Issue bid packages and evaluate subcontractor proposals.
  • Build cost models, value engineering options, and alternates.
  • Maintain historical cost data and benchmarking info.
  • Assist in handoff to operations teams.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of commercial estimating experience.
  • Proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff and Bluebeam.
  • Strong understanding of trade scopes and typical assemblies.
