Senior Director, Pharmacy Strategy & Market Expansion

About the Role :
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Director, Pharmacy Strategy & Market Expansion to drive growth and innovation within the healthcare and pharmacy space. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and expanding services that enhance member and patient experiences. You will bridge the gap between technical pharmacy operations and strategic business goals, negotiating deals, managing key relationships, and collaborating across teams to bring innovative products and services to market.
Key Responsibilities :
- Opportunity Identification : Scout for new ventures, licensing opportunities, collaborations, and potential acquisitions in drug development and pharmacy services.
- Strategic Partnerships : Build and manage relationships with PBMs, health plans, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and technology vendors.
- Negotiation & Contracts : Secure favorable deals, manage rebates, and ensure compliance for complex agreements.
- Market & Pipeline Analysis : Monitor new therapies, market trends, and competitive landscapes to inform strategy.
- Cross-Functional Leadership : Collaborate with internal teams (product, tech, marketing, operations) to launch initiatives and meet client needs.
- Value Proposition Development : Create compelling business cases for new services and solutions, including digital therapeutics and advanced pharmacy programs.
Job Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in math, science, business, marketing, health administration, or a related field required.Experience : Minimum of 10 years in pharmacy benefits, PBM services, HR consulting, business development, or sales operations, with at least 5 years in management rolesProven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals.Demonstrated success in leading sales teams.Relationship Building : Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with HR decision-makers (e.g., Benefits Managers, VPs of HR) and third-party consultants / brokers.Technical Knowledge : In-depth understanding of PBM contracting, operations, and program design elements.Preferred Credentials : Professional designation such as ASA / FSA, MBA, PharmD, or RPh.Must have current business development experience in the pharmacy space (minimum 10 years) to be considered for the Senior Director of Business Development role.Travel : Approximately 25–30% expected.Role Type : Individual contributor position with no direct reports.Core Focus Areas :
