Summary:
The Physician Liaison serves as a dedicated representative of the hospital system to physicians, clinics and some community organizations within assigned geographical territory. This role focuses on building and maintaining long-term, trust-based relationships and ensuring seamless referral management to the system’s services and specialist providers. The Physician Liaison is responsible for enhancing provider loyalty through exceptional customer service, identifying and resolving service delivery issues, implementing service recovery strategies when necessary and meeting quarterly goals as set by their Director. Working collaboratively with hospital Presidents, senior management and service line leaders, the liaison promotes clinical programs and ensures that referring providers have the support and information needed to provide high-quality, coordinated care to their patients. Meet or exceed clinic/provider visit activity, provider to provider visits and volume goals on a quarterly and annual basis.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for community physicians and organizations to foster strong, collaborative partnerships throughout the state.
2. Service Line Promotion: Actively promote specific service lines and clinical products available within the hospital system to ensure community providers are aware of specialized care options. Meet or exceed volume goals on a quarterly and annual basis.
3. Referral Coordination: Facilitate and streamline the referral process to ensure patients have efficient access to hospital system services and specialist providers through their referring provider/clinic.
4. Issue Resolution &Service Recovery: Proactively identify and report barriers to care and resolve concerns from referring offices to improve the provider and patient experience.
5. Service Education: Deliver presentations and educational updates to existing and potential referring providers and clinics regarding new services and resources available within the system.
6. Market Intelligence: Monitor and report on community needs and provider feedback to help administration improve service delivery and coordination.
7. Collaborative Planning: Partner with Hospital Presidents, Hospital Administration and Service Line Leaders to develop outreach strategies that support the organization’s mission.
8. Administrative Diligence: Ensure punctual and regular attendance and maintain accurate and timely records of outreach activities within the PRM system.
Other information:
1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or a related field is required.
2. Experience: 3-5 years experience in a business development or sales type role is required. Experience in physician relations or a healthcare sales is preferred.
3. License: Must possess a valid Arkansas Driver’s License and an excellent driving record.
4. Communication: Must demonstrate clear, concise communication skills, orally and in writing, and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Must also be proficient in a customer relationship management program such as Salesforce (or a strong willingness to learn).
5. Must be highly self-motivated, and possess strong organization, planning, and interactive skills.
6. Travel: Must have the ability to operate a vehicle and travel to all accounts and facilities as required.
7. Judgment: Must be able to work independently and use good judgment according to established policy.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
