Indiana University School of Medicine Division of General Surgery and Indiana University Health Physicians are actively recruiting a full-time colorectal surgeon-scientist with proven research experience to join the faculty at the assistant or associate professor level. Â In this role you will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative group of surgeons and APPs providing exceptional colorectal and general surgery care within the Indianapolis area. Opportunities for leadership development and advancement exist within the Division and the organization as a whole.
You should expect to dedicate a significant amount of time to research activities with protected time and the goal of achieving extramural funding. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to become part of our Surgical Outcomes & Quality Improvement Center (SOQIC), a collaborative health services, outcomes, health policy and quality and safety improvement research enterprise. SOQIC is focused on measuring and improving health care quality locally, regionally, and nationally.
Clinical teaching is the mainstay of educational duties with opportunities to interact with medical students, surgical residents, and fellows in the office, inpatient, and OR settings. Â In addition, there are nonclinical didactic and simulation-based teaching opportunities including several colorectal specific Department of Surgery Skills Lab sessions.
