Jewelry Designer

About the Position :

As a jewelry designer, you’ll be working directly with clients to understand their ideas, capturing those ideas on paper via sketches, and then collaborating with the Darvier production team to bring the client’s vision to life. Unique design sensibilities are a plus! As technical jewelry engineering is a core part of this job, experience working with and understanding precious metals, diamonds and gemstones, stone setting, finishing constraints, and jewelry repairs is required.

What you’ll do (Job Responsibilities) :

• Meet directly with clients both in person and virtually, working to understand their vision.
• Synthesize client ideas, design experience, and jewelry best practices to create a design concept that is beautiful, wearable, and durable.
• Sketch custom designs clearly and to-scale, using both paper and digital methods. Technical drawing skills are a plus.
• Educate clients in the properties of various precious metals, gemstones, and diamonds, to help guide them towards the best fit for their piece.
• Collaborate with the production team and our in-house metalsmiths to bring jewelry to life.
• Stay in contact with clients throughout the design process, building lasting relationships through excellent communication and follow-up.
• Manage a roster of multiple projects and custom jobs concurrently.
• Close sales effectively to contribute to overall store success.
• Contribute to setup and breakdown of product displays in our showroom, as well as a few light, shared tidying tasks.
• Stay up-to-date on jewelry trends, materials, and manufacturing technology.

Darvier Jewelry Design Studio was established in 2006 by artists to provide innovative solutions and the highest quality jewelry design, manufacturing, repair and restoration services to Northern Colorado and online. We recently moved to a 3000sq ft gallery and workshop space and are looking to add to our team. We support in-house casting, 3D printing, CAD services, laser / plasma welding and a large inventory of unique designs, Mokume, gemstones and diamonds. You will have all the tools you need to find success in your craft.
