Position Title : Extended Care Attendant
Reports To : Extended Care Director
Summary
The extended care team supervises and engages TK-8th grade students throughout the school day when they are not in class; either at recess, in morning / afternoon care, or during school breaks / summer. This role involves supervising students, promoting positive behavior, and responding to any conflicts or incidents that arise. Extended Care Attendants play a vital role in creating a safe and inclusive environment where children can engage in active play and social interaction.
This is a part-time non-exempt position for approximately 20 hours per week.

Schedule
Extended Care is typically open at 7 : 00 am and closes at 5 : 00 pm on school days. Shifts can vary throughout the day based on recess and lunch schedules as well as enrollment in before / afterschool care. Shifts often include either opening or closing. Extended Care team is expected to work during Christmas break, spring break, and summer.
Work Environment
Extended Care Attendants will work in spaces such as the school playgrounds, gymnasiums, and parking lots. Outdoor environments may include inclement weather. Position can require periods of standing and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Evaluation
Evaluation will take place at the end of the first three months of employment and in the spring of each school year.
