Job Overview : Rothmeyer TEC Inc (RTEC) is seeking a skilled Lead Tower Technician to join our elite team of wireless industry professionals. This role involves leading a crew in the construction, inspection, repair, and maintenance of communication towers and high-frequency antenna subsystems. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced in tower work, including antenna and lighting installation, troubleshooting, and rigging. Key Responsibilities :

  • Supervise a 4-man crew and ensure compliance with project scope of work (SOW).
  • Maintain a safe and organized job site, enforcing company and industry safety standards.
  • Perform construction, repair, and maintenance on cell towers, antennas, and lighting systems.
  • Manage and maintain telecommunication and wireless network systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Install, upgrade, and replace antennas, radios, pipes, and tower booms.
  • Operate and interpret survey equipment, test equipment (Sweeps, PIM, Fiber, Microwave, etc.), and site closeout software (e.g., Talonview).
  • Read and understand construction drawings to execute tasks efficiently.
  • Stack cell phone towers while ensuring structural integrity and crew safety.
  • Climb towers 100 feet and higher using proper climbing and safety gear.
  • Travel across the U.S. for tower assessments, installations, and maintenance projects.
  • Work outdoors in varied weather conditions and be available for on-call, weekend, and rotational assignments.

Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Required Certifications :

    • NWSA TTT-I Certification (in process or higher)

  • Rigging Certification
  • First Aid / CPR Certification
  • OSHA 30
  • RF Radiation & Safety Awareness
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) and Adobe PDF.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs and work at extreme heights.
  • Must pass a drug test, background check, and physical exam.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be willing to travel 75% of time if needed (gone a week at a time)
