💗 Night-Shift RN – CVICU / Cardiac Surgical ICU (13-Week Travel Contract)

🕒 Shift : Nights — 3 × 12-hour shifts (19 : 00–07 : 00), including weekdays & weekends

đź“… Duration : 13 weeks (ASAP start), with possible extension

đź“Ł What This Assignment Offers

  • Work in a high-acuity CVICU within a respected hospital — recovery and critical care for post-open-heart and cardiac surgery patients.
  • Opportunity to manage complex, high-level cardiothoracic cases : fresh post-op from OR, Swan-Ganz lines, Impella monitoring, CRRT, and advanced hemodynamic support.
  • Night-shift format gives you continuity and structure — ideal for seasoned RNs seeking a focused, high-responsibility role.

    • 🎯 Who We’re Looking For

  • RN with 2+ years of recent ICU or cardiothoracic ICU experience .
  • MUST have direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR , plus hands-on experience with :

    • Swan-Ganz catheter management

  • Impella device monitoring
  • CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
  • Arterial pressure monitoring, hemodynamic support, and critical post-op care
  • Proven competency in ACT (Activated Clotting Time) monitoring is non-negotiable .
  • Certifications : ACLS, BLS (or BCLS), NIH mandatory .
  • Comfortable working in a 1 : 2 ratio (may fluctuate based on acuity — step-down patients possible).
  • Open to full schedule (including weekends); blocked-schedule only considered for weekend-only requests (Fri–Sun or Sat–Mon).
  • Familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred (for charting / documentation).

    • âś… What to Expect on the Floor

  • Direct admissions from OR — respond to fresh open-heart cases and stabilize in CVICU.
  • Carefully monitor hemodynamics : Swan-Ganz, Impella, pressure lines, fluid status, CRRT.
  • Collaborate closely with surgical, perfusion, and multidisciplinary critical-care teams.
  • Deliver high-quality, attentive critical-care nursing during night hours.
  • No scrubs provided — plan accordingly.
