SCHEDULE : Multiple shifts available

Monday – Friday : 11 : 30 AM – 8 : 00 PM
Tuesday – Saturday : 5 : 00 AM – 1 : 30 PM
Friday – Tuesday : 2 : 00 PM – 9 : 00 PM
Sunday – Thursday : 6 : 00 AM – 2 : 30 PM
Tuesday – Saturday : 6 : 00 AM – 2 : 30 PM

POSITION OVERVIEW :

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join the Patient Food and Nutrition Services team at Michigan Medicine Hospital. This role plays a crucial part in delivering nutritious and high-quality meals to patients and staff in a fast-paced healthcare environment . The ideal candidate has experience in food preparation, menu planning, and a strong understanding of dietary guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines .

Assist in menu planning , ensuring nutritional value and dietary compliance .

Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure proper food storage .

Operate kitchen tools and equipment , including knives and cooking appliances, safely and efficiently.

Follow strict food safety and sanitation regulations in compliance with hospital standards.

Collaborate with kitchen staff to provide timely meal service .

Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.

Participate in training and mentoring new kitchen team members.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Proven experience as a cook in a high-volume food service setting.

Strong understanding of culinary techniques and nutrition planning .

Familiarity with dietary aide practices is a plus.

Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food preparation methods.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Strong teamwork and communication skills .

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends , as required.
