We are seeking a skilled and driven Process Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Tempe, Arizona. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) processes. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys collaborating with, coaching, and training cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop, program, and support Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes to ensure optimal performance and accuracy of SMT equipment.
- Create, maintain, and improve comprehensive production documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and process maps.
- Drive product and process quality through root cause analysis and the timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Apply and ensure compliance with IPC standards across all areas of production.
- Lead and support cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of manufacturing and process improvement projects.
- Provide daily technical support to production operations, including troubleshooting, repair coordination, and ensuring machine readiness.
- Participate in and support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Design and optimize wave pallets, reflow profiles, wave soldering, SMT, AOI programs, and other manufacturing process improvements.
- Promote a strong culture of health and safety by ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and proactively addressing workplace hazards.
- Ensure departmental processes align with and comply with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Train and mentor department employees in technical problem-solving and process best practices.
- Provide technical input and recommendations for manufacturing-related technology and equipment purchases.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Degree or diploma in a technical discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Post-secondary education in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred.Demonstrated experience installing, operating, and maintaining electrical and electronic manufacturing equipment.Strong working knowledge of PCBA manufacturing, including SMT, PTH, and mechanical assembly processes.Previous process engineering experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.Ability and willingness to work periodic overtime as required.Who You Are
