American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a busy Emergency Department, requiring a VA or compact RN license and at least two years of ED experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a 28-bed community Emergency Department with 3 trauma baysServes patients of all ages with a range of medical complaints, including trauma, MVA, mass casualty, GSW, stabbings, stroke alerts, and STEMI casesTypical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4-5, with up to 6 during higher volumes12-hour day shifts with every other weekend and major holiday requiredMust work in a fast-paced environment with minimal daily trauma casesEPIC EMR is used and previous EPIC experience is very strongly preferredResponsibilities include providing nursing care for patients with urgent and emergent health problemsWill coordinate care as part of an interprofessional team and serve as point of contact for patient care coordinationMust model core safety behaviors and participate in quality improvement initiativesCandidate will care for individuals across the lifespan and a variety of emergent conditionsOnsite pass / fail EKG testing is required on the first day, with two opportunities to passCandidates must be willing to cover major holidays and work alternating weekendsLocals are not accepted per 50-mile radius rule\n \n Requirements\n
Active VA or compact RN license requiredMinimum two years of ED experience and some travel experience requiredBLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications requiredCPI or de-escalation training requiredMust provide copy of nursing diplomaProof of address required and candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facilityMust pass dysrhythmia (EKG) exam with two attempts allowed (study guide provided)At least one supervisory reference required\n Benefits\n
